UA LOCAL 486 PLUNGE TEAM
THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE FROZEN!
It was a cold day on January 26th 2008. There they stood, in the freezing cold, patiently waiting to jump in the Chesapeake bay to celebrate what they worked so hard for. Who, you ask? None other than the UA Local 486 Plunge Team! After months of hard work raising money for Special Olympics MD, the brave team of 21 plungers had reached their D-Day on the beach of Sandy Point state park. With the water at an almost freezing 34 degrees, this was no picnic, but not one member of the team backed down. Arm in arm they ran in the water without looking back, and the rest is history!

Here we are in year number three for the 486 Plunge Team. With year two being such a huge success, with over 100 team members and over $75,000 raised, there's only one thing left to do! BRING IT!!! That's right, this year we are going over the top. Our main goal is to be on top with the most members and more money raised than any other team out there! Are you in? If not, you need to be! There is nothing more exciting than raising money for a good cause, and then getting to celebrate by jumping in the chesapeake bay in the dead of winter! I mean who wouldn't want to do that?
